SHAUN WEEK is COMPLETE!!!

7 days.
7 workouts.
7 chances to be BETTER.

Today I doubled up day 6 & 7 and just like that, SHAUN WEEK is OVER and I’m feeling like a rock star!!!

Why did I double up, though?!

Here’s the deal. Life happens in our fitness journey. Not every day is perfect. Not every day goes as planned. This was my world this weekend.

I missed my workout yesterday due to it being a really busy day (ever have one of those?!). Anyways, I was a day behind of where I was “suppose to” be and going to sleep last night I had a choice. I could wallow in my excuses or I could rise up and get done what I set out to do.

So I set my alarm for 5am.
Decided it was non negotiable today.
Knew that I had a busy day ahead and made sure NOTHING interrupted my self care.
And then, I made up the difference and doubled up my workouts.

Life isn’t perfect. Your fitness journey won’t be either. But it’s about how you pick yourself back up that counts. It’s about how you respond to difficulties that really shows your grit. Missing a workout didn’t get me off the hook for completing SHAUN WEEK. Instead, it served as a life lesson to get those workouts done BEFORE the day can take over!

SHAUN WEEK was AMAZING. I had NO CLUE what to expect other than Shaun T is crazy. The workouts flew by. They challenged me. I was able to modify if I needed. And the motivation he poured into the week was enough to knock the dust off of ANY stale workout routine. The best part was that my TRIBE was doing it…right there with me.

So what is next for me?! Well, I’ve officially got three and a half weeks until SUMMIT and I want to make sure that I’m looking good, feeling good, and ready to have a blast with my #inspirebeauty Beachbody TRIBE. I’ve decided to KEEP GOING with SHAUN WEEK, but to also supplement in recovery and rest with YOGA. Check out the calendar, ya’ll!!! It’s gonna be good!!!

And as far as meals go this week, I’m kickin’ it with some old school faves early in the week and getting ready for a BIG weekend of craziness. We have Charlie’s birthday on Friday, the 50th Gala for Santa Clara Vanguard on Saturday, Stanford Show all day on Sunday, and then one more local show here in San Jose on Monday before the drum corps packs it up and heads down to So Cal.

My biggest obstacles this week are going to be TIME and EATING AWAY FROM HOME.

To tackle those challenges, I’m going to make my workouts a priority first thing so that I don’t have to stress. Eating out is going to be inevitable, so when I can control it, I will be eating in and packing snacks for on the go. My rule of thumb for any of the meals I eat out is to fill my plate mostly with veggies and be smart about portion sizes. And, because alcohol will most likely be at the events over the weekend, I’m going to follow a “one and done” rule to keep myself in moderation and check.
