A New Year to SHINE

The last couple weeks of December are such an exciting time. With the rush of shopping, the last minute details in the wrapping, the exchange of gifts, food, and fellowship, and then the final countdown of the year- it becomes a whirl wind that can pass us by without stopping to truly breathe it in. Usually the rush is so much that we haphazardly create a resolution that we haven’t truly put any planning or thought into. My friends, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’ve been there…you’ve been there. The age old resolution of “losing the weight,” “getting healthy,” “eating better,” “working out more often.” Those are the most common resolutions made as that clock strikes midnight. Yet I’m certain that without a plan and without support you simply resort to old habits and the exciting thought of “finally becoming healthy” fades away as the year presses on.

What if this year was different? And I know people say that all the time to hook you, but I’m serious. What if this year you didn’t just throw this resolution into the universe, but you actually put the work in, had the support, and didn’t have to go at it alone? What if this year you had a plan- one that guided your fitness, your nutrition, AND your mental health, too?

And what if this year you got rid of that unhealthy guilt? The guilt that drags you down…makes you feel less than. That voice in your head that tells you you aren’t enough and that you’ll never accomplish your goals. What if we silenced that through power, strength, knowledge, and confidence?
