Can we all just agree to stop it? Please?! As I sit here enjoying my coffee and reflecting on how wonderful Thanksgiving was, I’m seeing so many posts and commercials blasting how we NEED to workout to burn off that pie today. The way it’s marketed makes it seem like we should feel GUILTY for eating food yesterday, but weren’t we just BLESSING the food we had on our plates not 24 hours ago?! Seriously…we need to stop it.

Don’t get me wrong…I’m working out today. But I’m working out because I skipped my workouts pretty much all week. After resting my aching muscles and giving MYSELF a chance to rest, my body is ITCHING to move. I’m going to sweat today because I love my body, not because I hate it. Who else is with me?! The one meal we ate (okay…maybe really like 4 meals) isn’t going to ruin our health JUST LIKE working out today ONLY won’t improve it either. You need a healthy balance…business and pleasure!!! Today I want to share with you some tips for recharging your health WITHOUT feeling guilty for enjoying a beautiful, blessed meal! Trust me…it’s the day I look forward to all year. 🙂

Drink LOTS of water.
This weekend, carry a refillable bottle around with you wherever you go. Aim to drink 1/2 of your personal weight in water. For example, if you weight 120 pounds, you need to drink 60 oz of water each day. Hydration is KEY after indulging in a big meal!
Avoid chain restaurants this weekend.
We’ve already indulged, so try to get yourself away from more high calorie traps. Chain restaurants are HUGE offenders of over-sized portions, hidden calories, and tons of fat traps in our meals. If you need to go out to eat this weekend, look for local shops and fresh ingredients.

Workout Friday-Sunday.
Commit to working out for three consecutive days. By focusing on your workout this weekend, you can rest easy knowing that you are DOING something healthy for YOU. There are two ways to look at the situation. “Oh I ate too much…I guess I’ll just be sad and do nothing.” OR “Dang, that food was GOOOOOOOD…but my butt should probably get off the couch and move. Let’s do this.” Everything we do in life is a choice. Choose the attitude that will reflect the results you want.
Hold yourself accountable with a Fit Friend.
Maybe you have a hard time staying on track because no one is holding you accountable. Find a fit friend to meet you for a sweat date…or maybe it’s time to join an Online Fitness Group with me! Whatever it may be…don’t go at it alone. It’s SO much easier (and fun too) when you have a friend to sweat with! 🙂
