PiYo Update & Homemade Passion Tea Lemonade

Are you ever so excited about something at the end of the week that you just can’t get the hours to roll by fast enough?!  That’s how I’m feeling this week as I prep to vacation in Paso Robles with the love of my life.  I’m stealing him away from his job and taking a little get-a-way escape to celebrate his birthday.  AHHH!!! 🙂  The good news is, though, I’m also a week away from finishing the full PiYo program.  Because I have my eyes set on these last couple workouts, it is helping to combat my excitement for the weekend to come.

I'm SO excited and I can't contain it!!!

Two months and lot of sweat later, I can’t wait to reveal my “after” photos to you next week! 🙂  I really was skeptical if this low impact workout would really produce results.  Skeptic no more, my friends!  The workouts are quick (most are 30 minutes or less) and they get my heart pumping, sweat dripping, and I feel like a million bucks when I’m done.  My limbs feel like they took a bath rather than got beat up and thrown out to the curb!  I know you’ve been there before!

And the results are everywhere.  Abs, legs, arms.  I’m truly in love!

Pushing for one more week through PiYo! I can't wait to show you my results and hopefully inspire you to try it, too!

This week I’m buckling down on my eating as I prep for vacation and the final PiYo push!  I planned out all of my meals on Sunday.  Some of the recipes include turkey and veggie spaghetti with whole grain pasta, thai chicken lettuce wraps, and chicken caesar salad.  I always like to get rid of any fresh produce before I leave on vacation, so my recipes this week include a TON of veggies so I can ensure nothing goes to waste!  I bought fresh fruit and hummus at the store for snacking.  And of course, my daily dose of dense nutrition- Shakeology! 🙂

During my final 6 weeks of PiYo, I also decided to give up any alcohol in my diet.  I wanted to see what would really happen if I stepped away for a bit and cleansed myself- mind, body, soul.  It has been an incredible six weeks of personal growth and I highly suggest it for all of my friends!  I dove into the Bible, got sweaty in my workouts, and cleansed my spirit in a whole new way-nothing to mask or change my emotions.  Just me and my feelings…me and my thoughts.  Pretty powerful stuff, so I’ll save that for another day!

Enjoying some sparkling water last Friday! No wine for this girl!!!
Enjoying some sparkling water last Friday! No wine for this girl!!!

I tell you this because as I draw closer to celebrating the challenge, I get an itch for a celebration that water just can’t scratch.  I truly don’t have a desire to drink wine like I thought I would, but I want something with flavor!  One of my favorite drinks at Starbucks in the summer time or anytime, really, is the Passion Tea Lemonade.  It’s sweet.  It’s fruity.  It’s refreshing.  What’s not to love?!

The price.  That’s what.

No fear.  You know I problem solve for you.

The perfect summer drink! You're welcome!

Homemade Passion Tea Lemonade

  • 5 bags of Tazo brand Passion Tea (I found mine at Publix)  ***the box comes with 20 bags of tea, FYI***

  • 32 ounces of water

  • 1 bottle of Lemonade (pick your favorite brand!)

  • 1 tsp of Agave Nectar per serving

  1. First you have to make the Passion Tea Concentrate!!! 🙂  Set the water to boil in your tea pot.

  2. While that is warming up, place the 5 bags of tea in a 32 ounce bottle.  I use my Shakeology Shaker Bottle!

  3. Once water boils and your tea pot screams at you, pour the water over the tea bags.  Let the tea cool slightly before putting the cap on the bottle.

  4. Place the concentrate into the fridge for 2 hours until it is chilled.  Now you have the concentrate on hand to make your PTL anytime you want one!  🙂

  5. OK, now here’s how you make your sweet, refreshing Passion Tea Lemonade.  Pour equal parts Passion Tea Concentrate and Lemonade into a martini shaker.  I use 1/2 cup of each.

  6. Add 1 tsp Agave Nectar to the mix!

  7. Add a few ice cubes to the shaker and…SHAKE!!! 🙂

  8. I pour mine over some fresh ice and VOILA!

The martini shaker makes it get the foam that you get when you order it straight from your favorite Barista, but you can opt to just mix the ingredients and pour.  Go ahead and try this one!  Make the concentrate on Sunday and then you’re all set for the week!  Let me know what you think! 🙂
